Ip Network Quality Of Service And Design

The rapid growth of multimedia application and the increasing demand on building value-added service generate more requests on predicable service over traditional IP network such as Internet.IP network,howerver, is based on best effort and cannot service all types of data delivery requests.It's a greate need for IP network to providing QoS guarantees according to customers's special requests.This paper reports on current IP QoS technologies, takes other techologies such as link level QoS,MPLS,traffic engineering and QoS routing into account and presents an effective resource management model for Diffserv network.Chapter 1 introduces main concepts about IP QoS and give a brief survey of it's evolving history and current works on it.Chapter 2 focuses on link level QoS such as ATM,Frame Relay and ethernet.Chapter 3 reports on two important IP QoS architecture,Intgrated Service and Differentiated Service,studies the MPLS/Diffserv model and gives a conclusion of problems which IP QoS architectures need to resolve in the furture.Chapter 4 first takes traffic engieering and QoS routing into account,then presents an effective resource management model for Diffserv network.Chapter 5 gives an conclusion of the paper and talks about the future work which need to be done.
