Process planning decision modeling is a main barrier in the research on a generative.CAPP with extensible interface. To coordinate the relation of the knowledge, a rigid hierarchical structure of tasks is represented, and the manufacturing resource is taken into account to make the ultimate process plan adapt to the manufacturing resource of the plant. This paper describes a conceptual framework of applying cooperative distributed problem-solving(CDPS)to CAPP for general-purpose process modeling. A new method to manage defined computer resource for relevant agents is introduced to solve the conflicts between these agents. As the agents to generate some piece of process require, the description structure for manufacturing resource is ameliorated. To solve the manufacturing resource conflicts between different agents and get the plan with the lowest costs in those substitute plans, a new algorithm to compute all the costs for a plan is adopted, with the assistance of other agents. The mechanism of generating plans in this system and application of diverse manufacturing knowledge has been discussed. |
