With the development of the modern wireless communications, the request for the frequency synthesizers is higher and higher in the system of the mobile communication, radar, guided weapon and electronic counter. The synthesizer with the low phase noise, highly pure spectrum and high-speed frequency agility has became the tendency to the frequency synthesis technology. The subject is to study the design theory and engineering realization of the low phase-noise DRO-PLL in microwave band.To make the design of the DRVCO more accurately, the coupling between the dielectric resonator and microstrip was studied and its equivalent circuit was proved. Based on it, some different ideas from some reference book were presented. Farther, the expression of the coupling ratio was derived. To realize the DRVCO's lower phase noise, a recent presented method was used. During debugging, the realization of the DRVCO's lower phase noise was aimed at. In the PLL's design and debugging, the loop filter's design theory and the affect of the loop-bandwidth on the phase noise was focused on.The paper introduces the phase-locked loop first, including its working theory, the design of the loop filter and noise. Then the paper analyses the oscillator's operational principle, classify and noise theory. In the following chapter, several kinds of the dielectric resonator oscillators, esp. their operational principle, are introduced. The equivalent circuit of the coupling between the dielectric resonator and microstrip is proved then. At last, the paper expatiates the design, simulation and debugging of the DRVCO and PLL in the subject. The realizing method of the low phase noise is analyzed and the conclusion given, too.
