In line with the brand-new integral development of global economics in the 21st century in Shanghai and to realize the goal of constructing Shanghai into an international shipping center, the marine power system needs an advanced development. Therefore, the better quality of marine power system manager, as well as the related theoretical research and technical development are needed. In one hand, maritime safety administration of PRC demandes that all marine engineers must be well trained in order to mastering the marine electric power system management, thus needs to develop a relative marine power system simulator. On the other hand, being a high nonlinear quality system, marine power system needs to be modeled and simulated under an accurate simulation and analysis environment. Because marine power system takes diesel engine generator system as power source, it's necessary to launch a deeper research for diesel generator system. On the support of research project which belongs to the science and technology of shanghai, "The simulation of multi-model marine synthetically power system and power propellant system", the research of this dissertation is aimed to highlight the theoretical research of diesel engine generator system to make it more applicable. As a result, this will make contribution to Shanghai's shipping industry.For this reason, the SMSC-2000 marine engine room simulator was successfully developed by Shanghai Maritime University. Its function met the requirements of STCW78/95 convention drafted by IMO (International Maritime Organization) and the requirements of our country demands on marine engineers. Marine power system model is the core of electric power system in marine engine room simulator. In order to be better used in faults simulation and analysis, the accurate of model needs to be improved. The research of marine diesel engine generator system simulation includes modeling and simulation results' analysis. Based on mechanism of the marine diesel engine power system, and according to the marine power system of YUNHE vessel, this dissertation sets up a simulation model of YUNHE generator system. Then runs this model and analyzes the running results with the knowledge of electric power system stabilize theory. The developing tool is MATLAB6.1 software. The good effects lie in the convenient modeling, simplemeasurement of system variants and clear results. The dissertation includes seven chapters as below:Chapter 1 briefly introduced the reason why the subject of marine diesel generator system simulation had risen in recent years and the theoretical and realistic significance of simulation application.In Chapter 2, 3 and 4, the mathematics models of generator system, speed regulator system and exciting system respectively were described in details. Those models formed the basis of simulating a diesel generator system.Chapter 5 described the conditions of generator systems' parallel running and its realization of simulation.In Chapter 6, we set up the simulation model of YUNHE diesel engine generator system, simulated common marine power system faults process, and obtained a lot of conclusion from the running result.Chapter 7 summarized this dissertation. It also put forward some problems existing at present and the trends of development in this field.
