Based on the simulation of the power systems and the aircraft EPGS at home and aboard, the research on simulation of aircraft Electrical Power Generating System(EPGS) is performed by using MATLAB in this paper, and the analysis of system modeling and a new method of simulation is described,Simulating the synchronous generators is the key to the aircraft EPGS simulation. According to the basal equation of synchronous generators, a simulation model of synchronous generators is developed by using SIMULINK, which is a software package supplied by MATLAB and can be used to simulate and analyse a dynamic system. Using the model, simulation of generators with different characters can be implemented. This model can also be used to simulate induction motors. Meanwhile, the Automatic Voltage Regulators(AVRs), an important part of aircraft EPGS, are also described and simulated. The models of diode rectifier system and filter circuit, are established by using Power System Blockset(PSB), which are also supplied by MATLAB. And according to characters among different block sets in MATLAB, the generator model and the other models are linked together. So the simulation models of different kinds of aircraft EPGS can be established easily. In this paper, constant frequency EPGS and High Voltage Direct Current(HVDC), as an example, is simulated.Using this model, not only the normal static and dynamic characters of aircraft EPGS but also the fault state system can be simulated. It is useful to analyse and design aircraft EPGS. The work of this dissertation has presented a new idea and method for the simulation of the aircraft electrical power generating systems.
