The current communication network in the world consists of many private networks and public switching networks. These private networks are connected by switching networks and separately managed. Some private networks have built management system, but some haven't. Each of them builds its management system according to its own need. Consequently, these management systems are separated with each other and hard to connect with. Many problems arise, for instance management protocols don't compatible, management information doesn't convey, management information transmission channels can't be shared, management contents are complex, operating interfaces are variable.Facing the difficulty in managing the separated networks, one effective way is to integrate the separated networks into one whole multi-functional, future-oriented network management system. Such a management system not only is convenient to use and maintain, but also and more important allows the entrance of new management systems. Furthermore, integrating network management system can achieve the inter-connection, inter-communication and inter-operation among many different private network management systems. We can manage all the sub private networks, regardless of their structures and protocols. It is direction to integrate sub-networks management in the development process of Internet.Because of the direction and the long co-existence of CORBA, CMIP, SNMP technology in the network management field, this paper mainly focuses on the inter-connection, inter-communication and inter-operation issue between the CORBA field and the SNMP field, and supports with relevant solutions. The first chapter is the overview The second chapter firstly supports some background knowledge, then gives the gateway architecture The third chapter devises an abstract gateway model The fourth chapter defines the language translation rules The fifth chapter define the interaction translation rules...
