Analysis And Design Of The Network Monitoring System For Local SDH Transmission Network

With the rapid expansion of the telecommunication network scale, the problems ofmulti-vendor，multi-standard and distribution have become increasingly prominent. While theexisting decentralized network management system is hard to manage transmission networkfrom the overall perspective.Therefore, operators are eagerly to find a standard networkmanagement system to evaluate, manage and macro-control the whole operational status froma global perspective, which has many characters such as high coverage, integration andintelligence.This paper is researched on how to carry out unified management of multi-vendor，multi-standard and distribution network management according to the decentralizedmonitoring and management of Xi’an local transmission network of Shaanxi Unicom, whichis combined with the requirements of increasing network efficiency，reducing the costs ofnetwork maintenance, and achieving network management comprehension. The main researchcontent and results are as follows:Firstly, according to the shortcomings of current telecom network management system,the advantages of CORBA and WEB technologies applied in the TMN are summarized, and atentative plan of establishing integrated transmission network management system based onCORBA and Web is also presented.Secondly, by researching the Huawei T2000transmission network management, theuniversal model of Centralized hierarchical network management is illustrated. On thesebases, the requirements and function of the integrated transmission network management areintroduced.Thirdly, synthetically considering from the the number of network management interface,extensibility, easy realization and protection of existing investments, we put forward a design plan to establish a sole integrated network management system on the basis of maintaining theexisting professional network management with CORBA/SNMP gateway.Finally, an integrated architecture for transmission network management system basedon a local SDH transmission network is designed, it emphases on four different but relatedaspects: functional architecture, layered architecture, information architecture and physicalarchitecture on the base of self experience.Combined with the current JIDM specification, theCORBA/SNMP gateway model principle is also analyzed and the CORBA/SNMP gatewayframework is designed. Moreover, the part of the module interface is designed andimplemented.The research on this system provides analysis and design evidence for Xi’an Unicomtransmission network management system by different manufacturers to achieve unifiedsupervision and management. And a good platform can be provided to network managementand maintenance staff by means of the development and implement of Web graphicalinterface, which can provide some reference value to the application and research of thetelecom network management.
