Research And Design Of Distributed Workflow Management System

Workflow Management System now plays an important role in theenterprise , it helps enterprise to standarlize its business flow, dynamically adjust its business flow to cater for the market. At present , there are now many commercial workflow products now available , but they are have many limitations in common: l)The system is too heavy, may provide user those feature they do not interest in .2)The System is monolithic, no flexibility. 3)The system have no consideration of how to integrate legacy applications run in today' s distributed , multi-platform compute environment. So, here in our thesis, we introduce a new workflow management system ?FlexFlow .FlexFlow is designed as half central half distributed system in the consideration of environment of current enterprise information system. We adopt CORBA which is independent of language and platform to implement this system. FlexFlow is compatible with the Workflow management faci 1 ity specification from OMG, so our system can cooperation with other system which is also compatible with this specification. The most important feature of FlexFlow is a middleware target to developers, system function module can be plugged in and pulled out easily with out recompiling the whole system. FlexFlow also provider developer two different level interface : application develop interface and system core function develop interface.
