As the key technology and core of manufacturing, the development of CAD (Computer Aided Design) has radically changed the research direction of automatic design; greatly improved the quality and efficiency of mechanic design; reduced the period of refreshment of products. A deep revolution of mechanic design has coming.Recently, technology of CAD has changed from the original plane aided design tool to the direction of intelligent , integration standardization and network quickly. Now 3D CAD becomes the mainstream. And it is clear that the applications of CAD have developed even more deeply and widely.Realistic graphics render is a most important part of Computer Graphics. It synthesizes realistic graphics on the computer graphic devices with hybrid method of mathematics, physics , computer science and other technologies. Based on CAD technology, designers can preview the shape and structure of products when they make the drawings, it's convenient for them to check and modify the product appearances they design, too.In order to develop a 3D CAD software with perfect function, high efficiency and reliability, which also accords with the design habit of our engineers, JhSolid - a 3D solid modeling software is developed, with Object-Oriented method based on Visual C++ platform. In this paper, realistic graphics render methods such as multi-light lighting, material, 2D texture mapping and real-time shadow generation using BSP trees and stencil buffers are studied, corresponding programs are also made to realize those effects based on JhSolid -the 3D feature modeling software system frame and OpenGL.It has verified that this program has succeeded in realizing above-mentioned functions, which prove the correctness and feasibility of this method.
