As one kind of graphics generation technology, realistic graphics is always in the front domain of computer graphics. It has played the vital role in further impelling computer simulation, virtual reality, CAD and so on. The texture mapping technology is one of the main algorithms in realistlic graphics. Because of its simple algorithm the Texture Mapping has widespread application in Computer Graphics and CAD.Based on the summarizing of the algorithms of subdivision surface by Catmull and two-part texture mappings by Biers, this paper goes deeply into the realization algorithm of the Texture Mapping on the plane, quadratic surface and NURBS surface and the algorithm of the texture mapping when the plane and the general parametric surface are the optimal intermediate surfaces.In this paper, emphasis is put on the Bump Mapping technology which was brought forward by Blinn. Not changing every sampling point location, this paper presents the algorithm on one dimensional plane and two dimensional plane. Based on the feature that the vector of every point on shpherical surface is eaqual to its nomal vector, this paper gives the result of the bump mapping on spherical surface.Finally, this paper deals with the emboss bump mapping and the multi-texture mapping technology. The way to calculate the offset of the texture coordinates instead of the offset of the vertex is adopted to obtain a better result.
