Linux And Ipsec-based Vpn Gateway - Cryptographic Algorithms

IPSec is a new IP security protocol suite. This paper describes IPSec mandated cryptographic algorithms and their implementation. After introducing IPSec framework and the Internet Key Exchange,the author focuses on the description of the encryption algorithm DES-CBC,the data integrity algorithms HMAC-SHA-1-96 and HMAC-MD5-96. The main functions of these algorithms are also discussed.
