| Embedded system is a kind of special computer system with special functions. Combining with communication and network technology can greatly enhances the intelligence and flexibility of network,extends communication functions,implement the connectivity between many communication systems. With the development of information technology and the increase of custom requirement,the application of embedded technology in the communication area is increasingly abroad. The purpose of this paper is to design a communication platform adapt to middle/low layer applications. It can support data transform between Ethernet,ISDN and ATM networks,and network terminal equipment with RS232,RS485 and USB interfaces. Many communication products such as SOHO router,ADSL modem,T1/E1 terminal equipment and ATM line card can be developed based on this platform.This paper designs a communication hardware platform based on the embedded communication microprocessor MPC850 in embedded Linux operation environment. Its content mainly includes two proportions:design of MPC850 main circuit and design of peripheral control and communication circuit. The design of main circuit includes system startup and reset,memory assignment and management,interrupt response and management,external bus interface,clock and power control,system development and debugging function. The design of peripheral control and communication circuit includes Ethernet,RS232 and RS485,USB,ISDN,ATM interfaces and interrelated control functions.At last this paper proposes a Bluetooth solution based on this platform. It can provide a wireless network interface to the platform,to conform the Bluetooth wireless network. It can also provide a wireless access mode,to be in favor of personal communication. Its content include hardware subsystem and high layer protocol stack. |
