This paper discusses the method that how the media recognize and adjust the competitive strategy and how they form role competence under the more and more drastic competitive circumstance.In the paper ,the author uses several methods such as analysis, integration,evolution,generalization.The conclusion is:the special technology, skill and enterprise culture are the keys that the media form the role competence.In the paper ,the author either think over the whole Chinese media's history and reality,or think over all kind of problems that the author met with in his almost ten years media action.The paper is divided by 3 parts.The first part is : competence is the key to survive.The second part is about the definition of media's role competence.The third part is about how to form media's role competence and several succeessful cases.The author hope to summarize the action of media in almost ten years through this paper,and make preparation for the future.
