Conventional receiver depends on hardware much more. The emergence of software radio results in receiver's renovation. The basic idea is to sample RF signal, process the digital signal by installing different modulation and demodulation software on high-speed DSP platform. Basic modules are wide-band antenna, high-speed and high-resolution ADC and high-speed DSP. Due to the limitation of device level, it is impossible to sample RF signal in direct now and have to choose the middle project-sampling IF signal, using special chip to built in the flexible multi-mode and multi-function receivers.Because of the opening of software radio, bus architecture is usually adopted. Absorbed the idea of virtual radio, the designed IF digital receiver is based on PCI bus, which can sample and demodulate 70MHz IF modulation signal. Data after AD sampling and digital down converter transfer to computer through PCI bus interface, while base-band signal processing may choose COTS DSP board or general high-performance PC in term of the need. The design based-on PCI bus updates software and hardware handily, economizes cost.In chapter 3, analyzing the feasibility of IF digital receiver, simulate the AD sampling, DDC and AM/FM signal's software demodulation by system simulation software-SystemView. Simulation indicates: Using band-pass sampling is right in digitalizing IF signal; it is necessary to use special chip to process IF digital signal; At the same time, it is feasible to process base-band low speed signal(AM,FM etc.) by software.In chapter 4, discussing the design project of IF digital receiver and the hardware realization on details. And received AM FM etc signals successfully.In chapter 5, discussing the technology of PCI bus interface device driver and application program.
