With the rapid development of information technology mass media has taken a more important role. Since the reform and open-to-outside the media in China has got a great development and thus an immense market has been formed up. Meanwhile the media industry in our country is facing great challenges from media groups in western countries. The situation makes it necessary for us to strengthen the theoretical research on the industrialization of media. This article tries to point out the main problems faced by our media industry and their solutions through the study and research of the course of industrialization of media, its distinctive features and its management patterns.The reason why media is able to be industrialized depends on its economic nature, which determines that media has the industry function. Along with the deepening of structural reform and market economy the medium industry in our country is paying more and more attention to the economic results, besides being the mouthpiece. As a kind of information industry the industrialization of mass media is now really an actual tend. Its progress goes along with the economic and politicalstructural reform, having an obvious stage character. In the 90s of 20th century the market economy revitalized the rapid development of media, which became a complete industry with the birth of media groups. Comparing with other industries the medium has its own particularity with special economic patten. Advertisement and distribution are the business activities operated round the newspaper running. They make up the main business of the mass media together with printing and information industries. In order to enlarge the business scale and improve the ability to resist risks the media make full use of its own advantages and devote great efforts to developing the secondary business that has no direct relation with the newspaper running. The economic pattern of the media in China takes the main business and its economy as the leading factor and run some other non-newspaper businesses at the same time. This pattern is adapted to the development of our socialist market economy according to the situation and the socialization level of the present market.The media in China is now extending towards marketization and industrialization. But there exist a lot of problems in the development, including the irrational industrial policy, the backward structure and the lack of funds. We must speed up oursystem innovation and djusting the industrial policy so as to meet the great challenges form international medium groups. Medium can collect social funds by running the capital, reorganize medium resources and realize the rapid expansion.
