| Traditional H323 IP phone network has a limit intelligence when setting up new service logic. Convergent data service requirements need more communications between different telecommunication networks just like IP phone network and IN (Intelligent Network ) based PSTN . PCGK (Programmable CORBA GateKeeper) supplies powerful service creating and distributing ability , also, CORBA-based architecture provide it a very flex adapter to communicate with Web and other Telecommunication Networks. Further more , security , database, object service are much easy to develop new service logic.In this paper, we described 2 series Voice over IP technology H323 and SIP, especially the core network of the VoIP system. Considering the interconnecting need between the Intelligent Network and Internet, we proposed a CORBA based system architecture to adapt two systems. Since CORBA has the ability of running cross the many operation system, our PCGK is benefit from this key point, also the object services and domain services provided by CORBA will play an key role in the whole system's excellent features.From the telecom operator's view, the market is not good as before, so the invest at the equipment and new technology is very carefully, also, the most equipment invest is hardware based which can not be discarded or unused. The software can be upgraded or replaced with low cost in system development. PCGK provide a compromise way to operator who is concerning with the technology and cost, that is, the main hardware components act as the basic media role, but the intelligent and powerful function entity resides in software part. Then, we can upgrade and replace the vital core component in whole system. With the CORBA's help, we can achieve a lot of advanced and useful features than before. PCGK can run over main OS just like WindowsNT, Solaris, HP unix and IBM os390. In fact, most network management system in telecom market are CORBA based, we can find CORBA system in Alcatel, Ericsson, Nokia, Lucent and etc. Furthermore, the famous mainland telecom equipment provider-ouawei, also is the end user of Orbix2000.PCGK is composed by 2 parts LCC(local call control), IGK(Intelligent gatekeeper). One is responsible for the call control and call record detail captured, the other focuses at the interconnecting with 2 different system, so they can provide more system independent. In order to make the system more flexible, we select lONA's market-leading CORBA product Orbix2000 as the base platform for PCGK.Orbix2000 provides some advanced features just like notification service, also, there are a lot of telecommunication equipment providers chose Orbix as their base platform. PCGK provides a ability to adapt 2 kinds of VoIP technology, with one core network system and better system intelligent, we believe it will be in rapid progress during next few years.Through the CORE A help, the developer can use C/C++ or Java as their like, also, use the OMG defined object services to enhance system features. So PCGK can give a lot to end telecom operator user. VoIP market is suffering from the economy descendant now, but we are sure about the future of it for the low cost and more attractive features. |
