| This paper first discusses how to improve the techniques of compressing and coding multimedia information to enable it more easier to be transferred. Next, the method to improve the capability of the networks to transfer multimedia data is analyzed. The paper focuses on how to improve nowadays protocols running on current networks to make it more fittable to transfer multimedia data, based on current hardware and protocol architecture.On the base of analyzing and comparing and summarizing many network and multimedia technologies nowadays, I studied on the special requirements on the networks by multimedia telecommunications and the merits of multimedia telecommunications over IP networks. Finally, a multimedia conference system is designed and implemented elementarily, especially focusing on the video and audio module. |
