Assembly fixture is an important tooling for assembly and inspection of aircraft and has great influence on aircraft. Its rigidity and stability are an important quality index, so the calculation of its rigidity is necessary to improve tooling design quality and shorten fabrication time of tooling and aircraft. The theory and method about computer-aided analysis for the rigidity of assembly fixture on the platform of CATIA are discussed in this paper. The theory of discretization for assembly fixture is proposed in this paper. The methods of discretization of structure, the loads and boundary used on the fixture are given. The process to extract the input data for calculation from CATIA model is discussed, the ways to develop interactive interface via Motif and IUA (Interactive User Access) are given. The theory and method about the calculation of rigidity are discussed, then the computer-aided analysis system for fixture rigidity on the platform of CATIA is developed and the method for analysis of calculating results is proposed. It also gives an actual example of assembly fixture,after the above questions are discussed. |
