Javaa Media Framework (JMF) provides a unified architecture and messaging protocol for managing the acquisition, processing, and delivery of time梑ased media data. JMF is designed to support most standard media content types, such as AIFF, AU, AVI, GSM, MIDI, MPEG, QuickTime,RMF, and WAV.By exploiting the advantages of the Java platform, JMF delivers the promise of 揥rite Once, Run Anywhere?to developers who want to use media such as audio and video in their Java programs. JMF provides a common cross梡latform Java API for accessing underlying media frameworks. JMF implementations can leverage the capabilities of the underlying operating system, while developers can easily create portable Java programs that feature time梑ased media by writing to the JMF API. With JMF, you can easily create applets and applications that present, capture, manipulate, and store time梑ased media. The framework enables advanced developers and technology providers to perform custom processing of raw media data and seamlessly extend JMF to support additional content ~f JMF ~ types and formats, optimize handling of supported formats, and create new presentation mechanisms, For the advantage of JMF, I develop the multiuser Multimedia Computer?s Remote Monitoring System (MCRMONS) with JMF.The Multimedia Computer抯 Remote Monitoring System (MCRMONS) is a standard monitoring specification that enables various network monitors and console systems to exchange network梞onitoring data. The MCRMONS has been used widely in the area of intellectualized Construction and Management of dwelling house, Security Monitoring桟ontrol and manufacture process Monitoring桟ontrol. With its advance of remote control and seamless connection with intrinsic equipment, MCRMONS Now wins more and more users?favor.The multiuser MCRMONS based on JMF is designed with the architecture of Client/Server.Server software based on JMF runs on the Local computer ( Server ) pluged with video capture card (which surpport video for window(VFW))and appropriate sound card.While server software抯 main function is to capture video and audio stream and present them or compress them / J~t JMF ~ into complexed media stream with CODEC in JMF and Windows according to different bandwith and quality needs. Then the realtime media stream can be saved to local file or transmited with RTP onto the network, Client software based on J7MF running remote computer receives realtime complexed media stream with RTP ,and extract individual video stream and audio stream with demultiplxer in JMF;then decompress the individual stream with CODEC,process the decompressed data and present them:display the video ,playback the audio. The flourishing developments of the computer multimedia and communication technologies as well as the speediness enhancement of the microprocessor抯 capability provide the technological foundations for the MCRMONS.
