Wth the raPid deve1opment of satellite communication techno1ogy andbusiness, it is indispensable to measure and analyze antenna's varies parameterssuch as radiation pattern in the process ofma-nafacturing anten-na and in testing andverifying on eaIth station of sate1lite commnication tO other netWork. Anenna'sdirection and gain are the most important parameters that reflect antenna's specificproperty and caPabilityso the study of antenna's gain is panicu1a-rlyimportan.Proceeding from actual condition, -in a systematic way ths thesisdiscusses how to use anten-na's radistion pattern measured to achieve its gainquickIy an conveniently.At first, this thesis briefly addresses conventional methods of measuringanten-na's gain a-nd discusses their advantage and disadvantage. To measureatenna's gain with conventional method, we must spend much energy to choosefitable measuring point. It not only need lots of manPower and material resource,but the measuring efficiency is specially much lower. This thesis elaborate twoconvenient and effectual methods to calculate antenna's gain using its radiationpthern --Beam-width method and Iniegral method. I deduce and discuss thetwo methods in details and get the convenient fOrmula to calculate antenna's gainby the two methods. On the base of antenna's radiation pattern, I also demonstratethe formula's correction by quatities of testing data. At last, I make a systematicexposition on the advantage of the two methods. The buildinrvode1 method ofmathenaties is employed to deal with the problem of using actual anten-na'sradiation pallem measured to study its gain, Whch translates problems of proctica1measurement into mathematical problems. By analying and studying the measureddata of anten-na's radiation pallern, I build correct mathematics-model, at sametime analy and soIve it, examine the builded mathematica1 modulus and revise itconstantly until getting the correct reau1t. This thesis uses computer to handle thetested data and employs mathematical mathods to demonstTate the corrcetion ofbeam-width method andintegral method. Fina1ly, I discuss and compare the testedresult, analyze the inaccurate source and causing-reasion simply and correct theinbocurate data on some degree. xThe Beam-width method and Integral method addressed in this thesis havemore extensive practical value in the process of manufactUring amenna and testingor verifying an ewth station of satellite com-munication to enter the satellite'snetWork. They also have more profound significance to improve the efficiency oftesting antenna.
