Under the background of the requirements of the DNS SHIP DESIGN & RESEARCH iNSTITUTION, this dissertation has mainly researched the CAD techniques and the data management techniques based on network. By means of network technique, CAD technique, database technique, ObjectARX technique computer graphics and programming for Windows technique etc, a CAD system for the hull producing design has been developed. This dissertation has analyzed the special characteristics of the hull producing design and proposed a overall scheme for the data management using database based on the advanced Client/Server architecture and network. The hull database has been designed by use of the SQL Server6.5 utility. The methods of the extraction of attributes in AutoCAD database and the interlinking way of ObjectARX with database are expatiated, by which a subsystem for materials collection is developed. According to the marking principles of the weld symbols, the factors that concern the marking position of the weld symbols are analyzed in detail. By means of the techniques of AutoCAD blocks and ObjectARX, the weld symbols can be marked automated in AutoCAD. A subsystem for data management during the jacking work is established, in which some techniques such as the methods of accessing graphics or images in SQL Server6.5 and how to use Windows registry are applied. The software based on the AutoCAD for Windows NT platforms and it has a friendly and convenient user interface. Researches in this dissertation will contribute to improve the enterprise design efficiency and economic efficiency.
