With the rapid development of the economy and the continuous increase of the population,the natural resources consumed by mankind have been increasing year by year,and the resources on land have been depleted.The ocean has a wealth of biological and mineral resources,and it is urgent for humans to develop and use these resources to maintain economic development.And Underwater vehicles have become an important tool for the development of the ocean because of their safety,efficiency,and flexibility.As the most important component of the underwater vehicles,the pressure shell can provide a good working environment for the control system,sensors,and underwater camera devices to avoid the corrosion of seawater and the destruction of underwater pressure.The paper combines the structure and design method of the commercialized ROV in foreign countries,and designs the pressure shell of the shallow water observation level ROV used in marine ranching based on its failure mode,Firstly,This paper summarized the development status of ROV at home and abroad,introduced several examples of domestic and foreign commercialized ROV products,and analyzed the development trend of underwater vehicles.Secondly,the paper designed the shape of ROV pressure shell,and summarized and compared several common rotating body curves,especially analyzed the Myring line type curves under different n values.Different curves were simulated and calculated by the software-Fluent to obtain the curve with the smallest resistance coefficient.Besides,the paper designed the wind tunnel experiment program and conducted the model experiment to observe the resistance of different curve forms,obtain the curve with the least resistance,and verify the numerical calculation results.Then analyzing the influence of different curve forms on the strength of pressure shell by ANSYS.Thirdly,the paper did the basic design for the pressure hull of the underwater vehicles.According to ROV pressure shell shapes' classification,characteristics and applicable conditions,the paper selected the suitable intermediate type and the right material of pressure hull.Based on its failure mode,the wall thickness of the pressure hull was designed and checked by empirical formula calculation.Besides,the ANSYS simulation software was used to simulate and calculate the intermediate part of the pressure hull and check its strength and stability.Finally,the paper did the optimized design for the pressure hull of the underwater vehicles.The center of gravity and buoyancy of the underwater vehicles were calculated,and a trimming method was proposed.At the same time,the stability analysis was performed.Besides,the paper designed the Sealed form of the pressure hull,and selected the O-ring seal.What's more,the paper did the optimized design of the pressure hull.And on the basis of meeting its strength and stability requirements,the wall thickness of the pressure hull was optimized and the quality was reduced.
