Design Of Intelligent TV Application Engine Integrated Development Environment And Some Key Technology Realization

With the innovation of technology and the development of Internet industry, the intelligent devices, considering smart phones as the representatives, enter a fast development period. The correlative software and hardware industry also continues technical innovation during this technology wave. Smart TV is an important part of this technology wave that conforms to the general trend of the times. The smart TV brings richer personalized experience than the traditional digital TV, due to the modern OS it has, the new technology of internet industry and the more powerful hardware it has. With its development, smart TV may become the new information terminal and entertainment center after PC and mobile phones.However, the development of smart TV is restricted to the amount of applications on it. Firstly, the interfaces from different smart TV software platforms are not the same at all. As a result, the compatibility of application is very poor, which result in the high cost of application migration. Secondly, almost all the manufacturers of smart TV do not release fully functional integrated development environments for developers, which make it inefficient to develop a TV application. Lastly, as the popularization of smart phone and the expansion of mobile application market, many people, who do not have experience on developing embedded application, have joined in the developer team. Although Smart TV platform is similar to smart phone, it cannot attract these developers because of the high development entrance standard of it.Focusing on the current state and trend in development of the Smart TV, we design and implement an integrated development environment (ClearTV-IDE) for smart TV. It designs for the characteristic of smart TV application and aims to solve the problem in the field of smart TV application development. It not only provides standard and unified interface for programming, but also provides several modules such as visual development environment, platform emulator and device interaction through the adaption of lower-level interfaces of smart TVs to reduce the development difficulty.The practices and experiments prove that ClearTV-IDE can be grate helpful for embedded application development, which can improve efficiency and reduce development difficulty. The functionality of application developed from it can be the same as the primary application of the smart TV platform. Besides, the application can also be as efficiency as the primary application. Now, ClearTV-IDE has already been deployed in development toolkit of some smart TV platforms, which shows its practical value.
