Research On The Development Method Of Variable SaaS Application

With the development of cloud computing, more and more people begin to focus on SaaS. It also promotes both complexity and requirement of SaaS. SEI has raised a concept of software product line, which based on software reusing to develop the similar applications in the same domain. Software product line can help to accelerate the development cycle and customization of applications in the same domain.To fulfill the higher and higher requirement of SaaS, the concept of software product line begins to be introduced into SaaS development and customization. But because the original target of this software product line contains all kinds of software, using the concept directly may cause some specific information of SaaS losing. For example, feature of architecture and non-functional requirement supporting. It will bring some trouble for tenant to understand and customize applications.Based on the concept of software product line, in this paper, we raise a definition and customization method of SaaS. By using the meta-model, the provider can define his SaaS model with variability. According to the meta-model and the relations between non-functional requirements and implementations, we designed a semi-automatic method to customize the SaaS. And also we realized the corresponding tool to verify it.To optimize the development process of SaaS, accelerate the development and promote efficiency, we raise a collaborative approach by using component composition to implement the SaaS which has been customized. By dividing the functions and processes of the application into different sub components, providing developers with code template and automation composition, the whole development process can be finished with collaboration on Internet.
