With the continuous development of information technology and network technology, application system requirements to access stored in different locations in the network, the data stored in different forms, and can be used in a generic way to capture and process the data. Traditional data access technology has been difficult to adapt to these requirements, Microsoft’s new universal data access technology can meet these requirements. Universal Data Access technology core OLE DB technology, which provides a set of system-level Component Object Model (COM) interface, universal data access relational data source and non-relational data sources, shielding the underlying the differences of the different data sources.OLE DB technology standards through the study design and the development of a generic data access engine OLE DB Provider (GDBP). GDBP is a generic data access engine core sub-module, generic data access engine by engine service, access control, audit management, GDBP sub-modules. The data in general from different data sources, small particle size of the role and user-based permissions control, session audit, the object audit and statement audit function data access. GDBP as a generic data access engine core module, the main client application support to provide system-level data access through TCP/IP network communication protocol to access remote data, with high versatility, scalability, flexibility and security.GDBP composed by two parts of the component interface modules and interactive modules, which the component interface module to meet the day-to-day data access requirements, provide database connectivity, data query, data manipulation, execute stored procedures, transaction processing, and read metadata functions; interaction module can be achieved for the middle of the data processing and the function of communicating with the engine services. Through the comparison of experimental data with the industry mainstream OLE DB provider, after the middle of the data processing and network traffic optimization GDBP has better performance and higher efficiency of the visit.
