From the original vision of Sun Yat-sen to the magnificent idea of Mao Zedong,the plan of John Lucian Savage in1940s to the finally construction in1990s,the Sanxia Project has a long way of development.The span of time,the influence and the field ranged are all rare in the history of engineering. As one of major engineering issues,ecological and environmental problem,unneglectable social problem,the great importance has been attracted by society.A monumental amount of coverage about the Sanxia Project have been generated from both domestic and foreign media,gor several decades.The number and the range of the coverage are unprecedented,no matter in the history of engineering construction nor the Journalism and Communication.Taking the coverage about the Sanxia Project from1992-2012in People’s Daily as study samples,on the basis of analysis,this article studies the characteristics,explores the problem,then puts forward some practical suggestions,in order to provide a reference for the similar reports to our mainstream media.This article includes the overview of our reports about the Sanxia Project,combined with the development of the Sanxia Project,in order to bring out this research object.The analysis of the usage of Photo News,in order to conclude the characteristics.The intent of the analysis of the usage of news source is to study the ratio of the report on its own and the select tendency of the news source. The object of studying the theme and tendency is to explore its focus and position.On the basis of the above analysis,the final part analyze the problem in the reports of major projects in our party newspapers,and then put forward some feasible suggestions.
