Abstract/Summary:
Antenna servo system is an important part of earth station for satellite communication, which is one of the most complicated electronic devices at the point view of control logic. With the trend of larger earth station, many MAC of earth stations are required to manage more than one antenna servo systems for those large-diameter antennas. At the same time each type antenna servo system uses a special communication protocol. The widely existed software which just aimed at monitoring and controlling a given antenna servo system is inapplicable more and more. Therefore, it is necessary to do a study of centralized monitoring & controlling of among different antenna servo systems.Firstly, the functions and communication protocol of different antenna servo systems are analyzed, and those different antenna servo systems include double-motor dispelling clearance, AC/DC speed regulation, AC variable speed, antenna control and feed polarization several types servo. Secondly, normalized processing of servo information from different antenna servo system is introduced based on the analysis, meanwhile polling algorithm is optimized for the communication for the centralized monitoring & controlling system. Furthermore, the software engineering method is used, including requirement analysis, preliminary design, specific design and software testing. Finally, the designing and coding with Lab VIEW program language is carried out to realize the centralized communication for different antenna servo systems. After the practical applications, a more complete analysis of the system compatibility and network capability to upper computer is suggested for further studies.The study and its output can be a part of an integrated monitoring & controlling system of electronic devices in the earth station. On the other hand, the study provides a design and engineering practices for monitoring & controlling other electronic devices in the earth station.
