In recent years, with rapid development of network and information technologies, more and more software projects are booming for information management and efficiency enhancement of enterprises and agencies.The author of this essay analyzed the Information Management System for Multi-school Entrance Exam(ExamSys). The ExamSys has two versions:one is based on C/S mode, and the other is based on B/S mode.The two versions have different issues in application.ExamSys V1.0 (C/S mode) has the following issues:①The deployment of clients is difficult and must be performed by professional techinicians in universities and training agencies.②The client system is huge to operate.③Other software installed on the client may be imcompatible with and damage the current examination system.ExamSys V2.0 (B/S mode) has the following issues:①The system operation will be ceased if the server or Internet connection fails. Then all candidates cannot proceed with an examination.②The system cannot save the process and results of candidates in a faulty client. Then those candidates must take the examination once more.③The operating speed of the system depends on the network environment.④If the number of candidates is too large for the server, the operating speed of clients will be slow.Fortunately, there is a new technology named intelligent client technology to resolve the above issues. The author analyzed key technologies that are necessary to construct the intelligent client technology in.NET platform, including smart client data processing technology, occasionally connected technology, and security guarantee technology. These technologies upgrade and improve the existing the Information Management System for Multi-school Entrance Exam.This document analyzes the feasibility of applying and promoting the intelligent client technologies based on actual project attempts and practices. These practices provide good cases for design and development of similar future software projects.
