Integer Dct Transform Based Video Codec

The research of this thesis is on the video coding techniques of China's first national Audio and Video coding Standard. After introducing the background and significance of the research and the research's contents, introduces the video decoding standard development history, present situation and the key technology used, and points out that the integer DCT transform is very importance in video coding standard.Then mainly introduces DCT transform technique, analysis the characteristics of the DCT transformation matrix. Without changing the features of the integer DCT transform radix, improve on its matrix filling rule and get a new type of integer DCT transform radix. Other than orthogonality, such a variety of integer DCT transform radix also meet the quantity relationships between elements of an integer as a matrix, and the normalized matrix have similar characteristic coefficients with the original DCT integer matrix. This type of transform radix can be implemented by rapid butterfly algorithm, in such integer DCT fast algorithm implementation process, no multiplication, just additions and shifts operations. This DCT fast algorithm ensures the accuracy of transformation operations; reduce the complexity of the transformation operations.The paper improve two evaluation indexes of transform radix performance: energy compaction and decorrelation efficiency, and combining the peak value signal-to-noise ratio PSNR, as well as a new proposed autocorrelation about residual data blocks, evaluation the performance of transform radix, choose a few groups transform radix with a better performance, the overall transformation technology of AVS video coding is improved.
