With an early start, journalism education in U.S. has enjoyed rapid development and now holds a leading position. With the rise of Internet, U.S. journalism academies started to run websites, most of which have boasted relatively distinct characteristics and advantages. The websites are generally complete and have excellent interactive functions with a fast update in content, high-definition navigation, offering the visitors great visual experience. For journalism academies, websites externally serve as business cards for promotion and internally play the role of practice platform for students, information communication, and reference pool etc.With the websites of 6 U.S. journalism academies as the case study, this paper applies content analysis to study their program, form, updating frequency, content and other varibles so that some conclusion may be drawn on the features and functions of these websites and their relationship with journalism education. In so doing, the author of this paper combines the present situation of journalism academies in China Mainland and hopes to propose the idea and experience that we can draw on from website construction of U.S. journalism academies.
