On Hu Daojing’s News Practice And Journalism Research

Hu Daojing, as one of the representative figures on journalism research in China especially on the local journalism history research during1930s and1940s, devoted himself into the anti-Japanese press during that invasion of the war environment period, became a "news warrior" patriotic journalist of progress from "scholar". Based on the "journalist Hu Daojing" as the center, around his news practice and journalism research activities, this essay will hackle skeleton, refine the main points, and objectively present the overall presentation of the news practice and characteristics of the course, as well as the contents and ideas of journalism research, in order to show the "Hu Daojing in the field of news" fully and completely, and make efforts on enriching the study on journalism historical figures in our country. This paper consists of the introduction and the body of four chapters.The introduction mainly expounds the origin of the study, reviews some relevant research and introduces the research methods and innovation.The first chapter researchs the cultural background of Hu’s family, the press activities of Hu’s ancestors and Hu Daojing’s study road. This part mainly shows the internal and external causes of Hu Daojing’s path to the anti-japanese activities in the field of news, and analyses the multiple reasons of his devotion into journalism research after his entrance into Shanghai Tongzhi Press.The second chapter researchs the news practice activities of Hu Daojing. This part mainly studies his news practice during the period from April1938, as the editor of "Tong" newspaper, to October1948, when Zhengyan newspaper was closed down. And this period can be specific dividcd into two stages:The first stage in the Anti-Japanese War, and the second stage after the victory of the Anti-Japanese War. Based on the review of Hu Daojing’s news practice and content analysis of relative newspapers, this part restores the true course of his struggle for nation liberation and the pursuit of democracy and freedom, in which he was a patriotic journalist of progress.The third chapter studies the journalism research activities of Hu Daojing. Among them, the Hu Daojing’s journalism history research is the core center of this chapter. On the basis of study of journalism history research, journalism theory and practice research, this part mainly discusses the contents, perspectives and views of Hu Daojing’s journalism research, and then concludes the main characteristics. The forth chapter researchs the historical contributions and modern metaphors of "journalist Hu Daojing". Hu Daojing’s historical contributions is his unique journalism research views. The metaphors of academic spirit reflected from these views also have enlightenments and influences for our contemporary journalism researchers.The peroration is a induction of the research conclusions of this essay. This part emphasizes that Hu Daojing was a patriotic journalist of progress who had independent background, and he actively devoted himself into the news propaganda activities of anti-Japanese in the social environment of invasion, moreover, he insisted on the study of journalism especially the journalism history of Shanghai, which was commendable at that time.
