The main content of this paper is develop of a real-time network environment monitoring and management system to adapt to campus network. By applying the SNMP of TCP/IP and the mainstream techniques BROWSER/Web SERVER, our system builds a monitoring and managing structure that allows one-point monitoring and multiple-points observing. It realizes real-time updating of the network topology structure and multiple visual presentations of the physical network topology, it also can monitor and manage topology structures of the whole network and key links instantaneously, analyze the trend of malfunction and give alarm intellectually.The study of this subject is to integrate existing work flow and roles based on the foundation of a uniform information database. The database includes information of all the network equipment and its configuration, access, configuration changes, corresponding tools, processing flow and processing log, etc, so that the management can be checked quickly and efficiently.Once our system is installed, the operation of all the network equipments will be monitored and managed in real-time conveniently. When malfunction comes necessary data can be picked up from the information bank and analyzed so that the malfunction can be quickly and effectively found. With less work and less reaction time, the efficiency will be enhanced and accidents will be avoided.The results of the subject can supply complete, electronic, accurate, real-time management and dynamic scheduling to network devices at all levels, supply effective monitoring and managing methods to the equipment maintenance, and supply scientific, standardized and convenient tools to the foundamental equipment management. In application it can provide flexible configuration to different size of campus network, all the management functions can be configurated and changed according to the individual characteristics and request of the the units that implemente the system.
