Because of good transparency of the clothing and high spatial resolution at millimeter wave band,the Passive millimeter-wave imaging technology has been adopted in a wide range of military and civil practical application, such as remote sensing, navigation and security scanning. On the basis of analysing the principle and systematic structure of passive millimeter wave imaging, hardware scheme of data acquisition unit of PMMW imaging system based on FPGA is studied, the paper complete the scheme of the unit and designed the function testing and the actual scenery imaging experimentis. The main content of the paper is described as follows:1. According to the whole scheme requirements of PMMW imaging system, the paper investigate and design data acquisition uint, including the construct of circuit structure and the divide of function module, and accomplish the interface design of the uint with other uint in the PMMW imaging system.2. The parper designs and compile the FPGA internal logic circurit of the data acquisition unit of PMMW imaging system by using the verilog hardware description language based on development software called Quatus II, and implement the unit function, such as data acquisition, sampling control and data transmission with other units in the whole system.3. The paper research and manufacture the one to sixteen differential signal circuit that is used to verificate the data acquisition function of the unit and the differential controllable signal circuit that is used to enhance the anti-jamming and stability of data acquisition unit by controlling the adjustable gain in the board.4. Take part in debugging the whole system, including data communication with digital signal processing unit and display control unit; accomplish the actual scenery imaging experiment. The result of debugging and experiment meet the requirement of the passive millimeter-wave imaging system.
