Street Light Network Monitoring System

Street lightening has always been an important factor in representing a city's traffic security, social Security, people's lives and its appearance, as well as a symbol of its development and maturity. Considering these problems on how to manage the system of city street lighting scientifically for the purpose of ensuring the efficiency of lighting and diminishing the unnecessary waste, traditional street lamp supervise and control system could no longer meet the increasing demand of modernized city's development.Within the analysis of extant street light supervisory system's function and the request for the present street light control management, this paper presents a new network monitoring system based on GPRS. Use Visual C++6.0 platform, B/S framework, ODBC data visitation technology and collecting circuit GIS/GPS. this it has realized many functions, such as street light monitoring, altering and managements etc.The subject of this paper is try to develop and complete a general street light monitor system available for middle and small cities. As the applied results indicate, the Remote Terminal Unit has the merits of low running cost, easy-to-be-extended and easy-to-be-maintained. And so forth. By using GPRS correspondence method, which is low in cost and stable in functioning, the system has successfully realized the monitoring of street light lines with a broad applying prospect.
