In the era of knowledge economy, school education is concerned about not only the passing on of knowledge, but also the method of accessing to knowledge, so to change the way of learning is an important part of the curriculum reform. Problem-based learning (PBL), as a method of inquiry learning, is one of the most innovative forms of teaching. PBL is characterized by "solving problem" as the center, its purpose is to train students to apply knowledge to solve complex and practical problems, and help students to develop high-level thinking and capacity of autonomous learning and collaborative learning. Although PBL is very effective, it is more difficult to carry out because of requring smaller teacher-student ratio. Therefore, today highly developed computer and information technology gives us realistic, simulation, and virtual reality environment, and the network provides us with rich resources and convenient platform for collaboration and communication, so online PBL emerged. In recent years researching the theories related activity design is one of the hot research focuses in the field of instructional design. PBL learning activities is an important part of the learning process and the basic unit of design. How to design online PBL's activities? Is there suitable platform to support its activities in the design and implementation? These issues are placed before researchers and to be resolved. With the development of learning management system, particular of learning activities management system, it is possible to solve these problems. This paper is about the design of PBL learning activities on LAMS. The main contents include:1. Through literature research, the author analyzed the research background and status, clarified the source of the problem and the significance of this research, and given the specific ideas and methods of this research.2.Through comparison and analysis of literature, the author analyzed the meaning of PBL, the shortages of traditional PBL and the advantages of online PBL; combining with the advantages of the LAMS, thought of the theoretical basis for PBL on LAMS; analyzed LAMS-supported PBL environment (PBLE), and explored the feasibility of LAMS used in PBL. 3. Under the guidance of the basic point of the constructivist learning environment design theory, activity theory and learning (activities) design, the author gave the general PBL process on LAMS, analyzed the elements of PBL activities on LAMS, and proposed the design process and method of each step.4.Combining with the unit "effective access to information" in junior high school curriculum, the author attempted to use PBL activity design process and method of each step to design a learning activities sequence and implemented it on LAMS. Through observation and interviews, the efficiency of the design process and method proposed in this paper would be verified.
