In Facing the 21st Century Education Development Plan of Action the Ministry of Education points out:"Quality education must be implemented from childhood stage, using scientific methods to enlighten and develop infants'intelligence."Art education, an important component of quality education, is thus increasingly concerned by many people.With the advance of times and development of economy, people's material and cultural living standards is constantly improved, and educational concept is continuously updated and developed. More and more parents and teachers realize the importance of quality education and also recognize that children's development must start from the pre-school. A large number of parents make children study dance, hoping that it can enhance children's quality by mastering a specialty. Therefore, under this circumstances, dance education and training for children obtains its rapid development and constant growth. A great variety of dance training groups, such as children's dance corner, dance training school, dance training center, come into existence. Learning dance has become a fashion for children. Frankly speaking, most of parents sending children to learn dance have a clear aim, pure desire and right goal. As a professional dance education worker, it is a real problem that how to locate early childhood dance and its education so as to take children as the foremost and promote the formation of babies'healthy personality or how to emphasize the procedure of activities and stress children's initiative and enthusiasm so as to make infant dance education develop orderly, healthily and all-round.In this paper, focusing on the current status of early childhood dance education, through various probing methods, the author gains some insight into teachers'and parents'idea and opinion towards early childhood dance education, analyzes the problems and misunderstandings existed in it, and puts forwards some advice. Let teachers and parents learn the role of early childhood dance in child's physical and mental development so as to better understand the aim and function of it and avoid hurt for children due to blind study. Make teaching method more scientific and targeted so as to promote children's healthy and comprehensive development.May more children feel the freedom and pleasure of dance.The paper first expounds the meaning of early childhood dance education, discusses the research background and social significance, introduce the research objectives, contents, methods, processes and research present situation and significance of the study and describes the characteristics and significance of research. With the unceasing development of art education, dance education, as an important component, is increasingly being public attention.Secondly, the paper expounds the relationship between dance and education as well as the characteristics of early childhood dance, defines child dance and dance education, recalls the course and situation of our early childhood dance in China and expounds its role from the relationship between children dance and physical and mental health, children dance and intellectual development, and children dance and aesthetic education.Thirdly, by using literature, questionnaire method, observation method, test method and analysis of written materials, this paper studies the current status of children dance education, including early childhood education cadres', child care teachers'and parents'awareness and understanding towards the purpose and role of dance education, and the application of the methods and approaches to children dance education. At present, the current status of children dance education is not optimistic. Due to the impact of the traditional education concept and insufficient understanding of children's age characteristics and development laws, many parents and teachers have a misunderstanding for dance education. Because of lack of standardized management and the fact that quality of teachers varies, the healthy development of children dance education is limited.Last, in conclusion, the paper analyzes the current status of children dance education in Dezhou city, points out the problems existed, and put forwards corresponding improvement countermeasures from the aspects of standard management, teacher team-building and development direction.
