In a certain sense,the teacher's living environment will affect their quality of life and career development,which will affect the quality of students' life and career development.However,with the promotion of the quality education and the new curriculum reform,the lives of the current secondary school teachers have been forced into a state of the hardplight, from which they can't get extricated easily.They have to work longer and longer every day,encountering more and more educational problems.Then, what kind of difficult living conditions are the secondary school teachers really in? How has this predicament come into being? What countermeasures can people find? Therefore,this study report presents a description and research on the lives of the secondary school teachers,based on-site observation,investigation,interviews in an urban secondary school.The details indicate the contradictions and confusion the teachers felt in the process of the intense competition during their career,displaying all kinds of hardships and helplessness the have been encountering in the course.Both the external social impact and its own specific reasons contribute to the formation of the secondary school teachers' current states of confusion.Various factors in the social environment have combined into enormous difficulties andpressure on the teachers' work and lives,for instance,the fierce academic competition,the collision of multi-cultural concepts,the traditional values,people's dualistic way of thinking in education,the given status of teachers;unreasonable systems in the education management and evaluation;the contradictions between the limited formal employment and unlimited work,the improper evaluation systems of the teachers' management and teaching assessment together with the parents,students and other various reasons.At the same time,secondary school teachers' perverted social role,the lack of rational self-education spirit andprofessional weakness all have added up to its confusing state of existence.Through research and analysis,I think it's an urgent problem requiring a multi-pronged efforts,to change the living conditions of secondary school teachers,to improve their quality of life.Firstly,teachers must take the initiative to change their lifestyle,and enhance their professional skills and the establishment of autonomy in education,managing reasonable arrangements for their own lives and work. Secondly,education administrators must thoroughly study and change the education management system,education evaluation,regarding the teachers' life and work characteristics as a basis of the management. Thirdly,teachers' training departments must truly concerned about the lives,development needs,and improve training methods and content for the secondary school teachers.Fourthly,it is expected that parents, the media,and other various social sectors can work actively together for the teachers,creating for the secondary school teachers a harmonious working atmosphere.
