By way of interview, the researcher studies 300 children's cognition of the concept related to body growth, which is in age of 45 months to 80 months. By two ways of defining and cause interpreting, the research reviews ten concepts: life, heart, brain, skin, boy, girl, birth, grow up, decrepitude and death.Through the coordination, generalization and coding of the interview results, the researcher finds that there are 12 forms in children's defining of the concept related to body growth, which are be unaware of, inaccurate cognition, construct using the same word, illustrate, depiction of cause, depiction of result, depiction of measure, gender role, intuitionistic character, important property, fact function and relation of category. Depicting the intuitionistic character is the main definition form.Plotting out the 12 forms to 3 levels, the researcher finds that 33.63 percent child's defining of the concept related to body growth is in the first level, which is short of comprehending of the concept; 49.34 percent is in the second level, which master the concept from concrete object or the exterior character can be apperceived straightly; 17.03 percent is in the third level, which can define for the concept related to body growth from the inherence property of the object or the relationship between human and thing, thing and thing. Furthermore, through the statistical analysis of the data; this thesis respectively reveals the age feature, gender feature and kindergartens feature of the children's cognition of the concept related to body growth. Research finds that, their cognition of the concept shows prominence age difference, shows prominence sex difference in defining "life" and "boy", which is manifest in boy's defining level is higher than girl; shows prominence kindergartens difference in defining "life", "heart", "brain", "skin" and "girl", which is manifest in the children's defining level of kindergarten A is higher than that of kindergarten B.The research finds that there are 8 forms in children's cause interpreting of the concept related to body growth, don't interpret, inaccurate interpretation, interpret by illustrating, interpret from representation, interpret from result, interpret from aftereffect, interpret from measure and straight cause interpretation. The straight cause interpretation is the main form, 49.80 percent child interpret the cause in this form.On this basis, the researcher generalizes the aforesaid features and reaches a conclusion that the children's cognition of the concept related to body growth is probably affected by the development level of their thoughts, their life experience, the concept itself and the education they received. Then the researcher makes some suggestions on body growth education for preschool children.At last, the researcher reflects on this study and puts forward some points that need further improvement...
