| The paper uses the case study method to describe and explain the school-based teacher training practice in H Primary School of Changzhou. It analyzes and reflects upon the problems in school-based teacher training. Through this study, it aims to promote the school-based teacher training and provide a fresh example for the theory and practice in this field. The paper studies this problem in three parts.Part One clarifies the concept of school-based teacher training from a macroscopic perspective, and explores the cause for the rising of this practice. The author thinks that school-based teacher training meets the need of teacher training in our country. It rises with the development of the theory of school-based training and overcomes the malpractice oftraditional training.Part Two describes and explains the practice of school-based teachertraining in H Primary School from the perspective of manager in this field. The school sets the aim of its school-based teacher training to bring forth teachers with charm, resolution and competence. Its strategy is to build a fast lane for the growth of teachers, to create the culture of school-based studies, to utilize the training resources, to renovate the school-based training method and to reform the school-based training pattern. Finally, the achievement of its school-based training is summarized in two aspects from inner and outer levels.Part Three reflects upon the three problems raised by the practice of H Primary School from the viewpoint of an on-looker. The author considers the main factors for school teacher development to be the running environment of the school, the school-based training concept and management of the schoolmaster, the motivation of teachers on school-based training, and the school resources for teacher development. |
