| Senior Secondary school (SSS) curriculum reform is an important constituent of Elementary Education Curriculum Reform here in China, and on March 31.2003 Ministry of Education issued . Opening both various elective courses as well as required courses to make the curriculum more classified and selective formed a highlight in the new turn of SSS Curriculum Reform. With the direction of the mentioned document, schools in experimental plot made Omni-directional projects concerning their own situation. However in practice, facing up the inevitable difficulties and confuses, we still need to make further study and rational consideration on many specific aspects.Using literature searching, historical methodology as well as comparison methodology, this article tries to conclude some valuable experience from the history of elective courses since our country was founded, meanwhile, to make some significant investigation about the implementation of the elective courses. The discussion consists of three parts listed below:Part one: background of studying elective courses, concerned concept, literature and method.Part two: combined with the current situation, analyzing the development of elective courses since the foundation of China, studying various problems at different stages, such as the aim, content, type of opening elective courses and the running mode, teaching hours, assessment issues etc, then forming a conclusion.Part three: combined with the practice of SSS Curriculum Reform, making realistic reflection, discussing the currently existed problems and the relevant solutions. |
