Philosophy education plays a significant role in cultivating students' comprehensive quality and personal abilities in high school; however, the current situation of the philosophy teaching in high school is beyond people's expectation. An investigation, held in one of the leading high schools in shanghai, concerning with the current philosophy education in high school, discovered some existing problems in the teaching of philosophy in high school. This paper will discuss the reasons of the existing problems via textbooks, teaching methods, teaching instruments and teachers' personal abilities, and proposal some strategies to improve the quality and efficiency of high school's philosophy education.This paper consists of five chapters. The first chapter discusses about the negative situation and the current problems in the teaching of philosophy, and all kinds of weakness in the field of textbook, teaching methods, teaching instrument and teachers' personal abilities. The second chapter introduces the features and existing problems of the present textbooks in detailed and give out certain proposals and strategies for improving the textbooks. The following chapter mentions about the traditional philosophy teaching methods and its weakness, and mainly discusses the attempt and application of case-teaching method in the teaching of philosophy. The fourth chapter refers teaching instrument. The paper affirms the advantage as well as the disadvantage of multimedia and gives some suggestion in reasonable using of multimedia in the teaching of philosophy. The final part of this dissertation points out the recommendations and challenges of the new course expectation for the philosophy teachers.All in all, the first chapter of this dissertation gives a brief introduction of the existing issues in philosophy teaching, and provides the corresponding solutions in the coming chapters.
