| Subjectivity education, as an ideological trend, has now been widely accepted as a result of 20 years of exploration and application since 1980s when the research began to surge, yet the tide did not completely ebb away and many issues remained to be addressed, among which teacher's subjectivity is one typical example. As most research centers around student's subjectivity, it seems in some researchers'view that teacher's subjectivity is bound to be subordinate. Yet, attaching much importance to teacher's subjectivity does not contradict stressing student's subjectivity. It is of great significance to stress student's subjectivity, about which there is no doubt as it shows that the importance of individuality has been recognized in our educational circles. Research done on student's subjectivity only without exploring teacher's subjectivity will, however, be one-sided and therefore harmful to the educational reform and development. How can we expect a versatile student to be the educational product of a teacher without subjectivity? The lagging behind of the research on teacher's subjectivity is incongruous with the entire subjectivity education and will inevitablely affect the development of the students'subjectivity.Since the New Curriculum reform was carried out, the New Curriculum system, compared with the original one, has made great innovation and breakthough in course-functions, structures, contents, implementation, appraisement and management. While the implementation is the key to successful experiment, teachers will be the key to successful implementation. The New Curriculum advocates new concepts, such as students'personality developing, course synthesizing and course management democratizing, are great challenges to most teachers who are accustomed to the old curriculum. It requires teachers to make adjustments to their teaching concepts, practice, strategies, and teaching roles. It also provides teachers a wide stage to present themselves as well as a golden opportunity to promote their subjectivity development.Conducting a thorough research into teacher's subjectivity, thus I maintain, is inexorably a demand made by current curriculum reform, and a critical starting point at which we can expect to make a research breakthrough in the subjectivity education. Based on extensive document reading and investigation, the paper is aimed to conduct a theoretical discussion on teacher's subjectivity, expounding its complexity and specificity, to analyze the causes as well as the lacking of teacher's subjectivity in teaching practice, to prove the necessity of exploiting teacher's subjectivity in the New Curriculum reform, and... |
