Teaching practice is the link between theory and practice. It is also a key process through which future teachers enter the area of professional teaching. However, teaching practice is facing the difficulty of integrating theory with practice in our country. In the light of the ideas about theory and practice, the thesis analyses and compares the development and present conditions of the teaching practice institution in China and England, from the macroscopic and microcosmic perspectives. The aim of the study is to summarize key factors that have an important impact on the variation of teaching practice institution and to provide suggestions for the institutional reform of teaching practice in China.The structure of the thesis is as follows:Preface: This part is mainly about the context of the discussion, the explanation of few related conceptions and a brief narration of the methods and reason of the study.Part I: Summarizing and analyzing several kinds of ideas and models of teaching practice.Part II: The historic development and present conditions of the teaching practice institution in China. In the light of the change of teaching practice ideas, this part briefly analyses the process of institutional development and the features of each stage.Part III: The historic development and present conditions of the teaching practice institution in England. According to the variation of teaching practice ideas, this part briefly expounds the process of institutional development and the features of each stage.Part IV: Comparison and analysis. Firstly, on the foundation of the discussion in Part two and three, the thesis concludes the features of institutional development in the two countries. Secondly, it makes acomparison between the present conditions of the two kinds of institution and points out the problems they are facing.Part V: Pondering on the institutional reform of teaching practice in our country. The part probes the approaches to the difficulties that Chinese teaching practice institution is facing on the basis of the comparative study.
