China's Poor Rural Areas Of Sociology Of The Family Support

Population aging is a social problem which attached extensive attention by world today .The old population of our country is the largest .The rural old accounts for 57.7 percent .So providing for the rural aged is a very important problem .The major type of providing for the aged is family supporting ,which is the major channel.This study apply the relative theory of sociology by questionnaire survey and individual interview .It analyzes the domestic providing for the aged in Tudixi cottage, Enshi state ,Hubei province.This thesis consists of four parts. First part illustrates the purpose and significance , present state and methods relevant to this research . Second part analyzes material provision , lifecare , mental comfort of domestic providing for the aged in poor area. Through the descriptive analysis , family supporting show five basic characteristic: one is that the aged have stronger self-independence ,but their material living standard ,health state aren't optimistic. Two is that domestic support plays an important role in later life of the aged. Three is that male descendants are dominant in family supporting. Four is that family supporting embodies a super economic and imbalanced exchange. Five is that most of the aged feel satisfied, although the material living standard isn't high. Third part analyzes the influential factors from personal, domestic and social aspects. And finds that the health, marriage ,domestic inhabitation arrangement , family relation , traditional culture and morality , these non-economic factors of the aged are the primary factors. The last part of this thesis comes the main conclusion of the study .the problem remains to be resolved .
