Study Objectives: The trend of Secondary school students’ physical fitness has declined in recent years, so researching and analyzing the physical fitness status and development trend of higher secondary school are conductive to the reform of secondary school and provide scientific basis for the macro decision-making of school athletics hygiene work. After studying the effect of Cheerleading and National Aerobics on secondary school’ physical fitness, it will provide PE teachers with guidance and reference, contribute to the curriculum and innovation of secondary school, furthermore, it also provides sports enthusiast and participants with guidelines.Subjects and methods: 97 freshmen in the second semester of 2014-2015 academic year in Yunnan College of Business Management,there are two teams in the teaching, including National Aerobics and Cheerleading. At the beginning of the course, the student will be tested upon their basic physical situation and health physical fitness before March, 2015, after finishing the curriculum in July, they will be given the test of physical performance again. The study will make use of SPSS17.0 to carry on data analysis, in order to learn if there are great differences between these two sports which related to physical fitness index.Research results:1. Cheerleading and national Aerobics all belong to aerobics, after long time exercise, they are good for secondary school’ physical, as a way to show the outstanding change upon weight, BMI and fat percentage, the improvement of body shape, the achievement of students’ physical beauty desire.2. After a period of 4 months’ Cheerleading and National Aerobics teaching,the cardio-pulmonary function of secondary school will be improved, as a way to show the outstanding change among maximum vital capacity, resting heart rate, blood pressure(SBP, DBP), vital capacity index and middle-distance performance etc, but there is no significant difference between the two groups.3. After a period of 4 months’ Cheerleading and National Aerobics teaching,subjects have made a very significant enhancement in terms of grip strength, body mass index, standing long jump, one minute sit-ups and stand-trunk-bending. As for grip strength and body mass index, groups of Cheerleading are much better than National Aerobics, in addition, as for standing long jump and stand-trunk-bending, National Aerobics are much better than Cheerleading.Conclusions: After four months practicing, secondary school’ physical fitness indexes have been improved to varying degrees. Experiments show that Cheerleading and National Aerobics are suitable for secondary school, it is also a suitable project for colleges and universities to promote.
