Facing the growing physical mental health problems of undergraduates,scholars at home and abroad begin to make the mental disease involved using physical exercise as an intervention method.The result shows it gains a positive result on mental health.fitness is an important indicator of the physical health.As one aspect of self-esteem,body self-esteem is one of the important signs to measure mental health,it is of significance for the psychological effect of undergraduates before and after physical exercises.Different forms of exercise produces different exercise psychological benefits.Cheerleading is in the form of team,which embodies the spirit of youth,sunshine,health and unity.It is loved by young students with unique charm,and has been popularized and developed rapidly in our country.This paper tries to explore the influence of Cheerleading teaching on the mental health of female college students with cheerleading as a research perspective,and to provide a scientific method to promote the physical and mental health of college students.In this paper,122 girls from the Cheerleading elective class of Shanghai University and Shanghai Maritime University were selected as the survey objects,the physical and psychological indicators were compared vertically and horizontally with the methods of literature study,test,questionnaire and mathematical statistics.The results showed that:1.Cheerleading exercise has a good promoting effect on physical health of female college students.Cheerleading learning can promote the growth and development of muscle,help to shape the body figure;cheerleading can effectively improve the physical quality of the students,enhance the strength of the muscles,improve the elasticity of tendon,ligaments and muscles,thus improve the flexibility,endurance and strength,especially to improve the strength of the legs and the strength of the waist and abdomen.2.Through the whole semester’s cheerleading study,the total score and the dimensions of body self-esteem of female college students including physical self-sense of worth,exercise ability,physical condition,physical attractiveness and physical quality score have been improved to varying degrees.3.We draw a conclusion from the paired sample T test of the total score and dimensions of female college students’ physical self-esteem before and after the cheerleading study,there exist highly significant differences before and after exercise on the total score of physical self-esteem,physical self-worth,physical condition,physical attractiveness and physical quality.which shows that cheerleading has a very significant effect on improving the level of physical self-esteem.4.Through the analysis of the correlation between each index and physical self-esteem of female college students,we get the following conclusions.After cheerleading,there is a significant positive correlation between physical fitness and physical self-esteem of female college students,and the general level of physical fitness directly affects the overall level of physical self-esteem.Among them,the flexibility in physical quality has the greatest influence on physical self-esteem,and the relativity between body function and body self-esteem is less.Therefore,we can improve the physical self-esteem level of female college students by improving their physique.
