"High rate of staff resignation" has become a bottleneck which disrupted social work team keeping growing and solid, is not conducive to the national team construction of social work and social work career. This study engages in "retention" research from the side of the "lost", adopting qualitative research methods, interviewing ten Guangzhou professional social workers, to understand the reason of the retention of professional social workers.This study found that the professional social workers retention reasons are as follow. Institutional identity, comfortable working environment, salary and other benefits good condition, good prospects for the industry, with a sense of job performance, family, health, and human society. According to the theory embedded analysis, it can be summarized into six aspects: First of all, the affinity relationship between professional social workers and others in the formal or informal; Secondly, the dependency relationship between the professional social workers and others outside the work; Thirdly, the degree of the professional social workers in institutions feel comfortable and matched; Fourthly, the degree of the professional social workers in his own life space comfortable; Fifth, professional social workers perceived the material benefit and psychological benefits losses after they left the organization; Last but not least, professional social workers perceived the material benefit and psychological benefits after they left the community.According to these findings, in order to strengthen the professional social worker retention and stable social work talent team, we have some suggestions by means of embedding in two aspects. There are establishing job matching, strengthening inner joins, increasing sacrifice in work, establishing work matching connection, promoting the connection in work and improve sacrifice out of the work.
