The Mind Mapping is a tool and model for thinking which is created by Tony Buzan, a notable British scholar. It makes the divergent thinking specific. In essence, to make a mind map is to draw what you think as comprises as possible. As is know to us, the left side of the brain controls logic, sequence, rules, characters and number, while the right side controls images, imagination, color, space and entirety, when we are thinking with a mind map, it help us to make full use of the skills of both sides of the brain to assist us to balance the science and art, logic and imagination, which makes a cluster of boring information turn to be a colorful, catchy, highly-organized mind map. The Mind Mapping shows the attached and related relationship of themes in different levels. Thus it arouses the potential of humans’ brain, improves the thinking ability, attention and memory.Because the Mind Mapping is the expression of externalization of thinking, whose maneuverability is strong and the effect, is significantly. Despite its initial purpose is to improve the method of notes. But its role is increasing powerful in various fields. Now it is widely used in personal, family, education, enterprise and so on. Since the idea was introduced into education field, caused the high attention of education workers, and positive attempt. It has been widely applied in the UK, Singapore, South Korea, Japan, Germany, the United States and other countries and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan regions. Relatively, the domestic for the research and application of mind map is still in the introduction and the early stage. It is applied at most three disciplines which are education technology, mathematics and chemistry in education.The Mind Mapping is based on the theory of structure, tutoring brace theory, visual theory with the Mind Mapping. In the process of education, it helps the students to learn initiatively and interactively. Besides, when the students create a mind map, they will combine their thoughts in series, and form a memory chain which is related and associable. It is easier for the students to connect in the mind enhance the memory effect and learning efficiency, while they draw the Mind Mapping, the interesting and colorful images are beneficial for the students to stimulate their imagination and creativity, which is a optimum circulation. In contrast to the conceit image and graphical representation in historical teaching, the Mind Mapping is more appropriate for the requirement for students’ development in the condition of the reformation of fundamental education and the request for the cultivation of the student’s imagination and creativity in the contemporary society.The author thinks that, as a result of history, with logic, timing, comprehensive, etc, combining with the characteristic of the psychological characteristics of junior secondary school students it is also of great significance to use mind mapping to assist teachers teaching and guide students to learnt in history teaching, especially in the junior middle school history teaching. The author did a brief research and explore for the application of mind map in the middle school history teaching from three aspects: the teachers’ teaching and students’ learning, and communication between teachers and students.The author takes the 《Being united as a family》 and 《Heroic fight against the foreign invasion in Ming and Qing Dynasty》 as examples convenience of the using the Mind Mapping, which are from the second volume of the historical teaching material of Beijing normal university, and to discuss how to use the Mind Mapping in the previous teaching design and the organization in the process of teaching. In addition, the author probes when the teacher organized the teaching material in the process of review to increase the difficulty. Besides, this dissertation aims at how to supervise the students to use mind map to learn effectively and train their thinking ability from two aspects of taking notes in class and reviewing after class.
