As the country continues to advance the pace of modernization, the modernization of education are carried out in full swing. After seven experienced reforms, a new round of basic education curriculum reform is deepening. As a result, the effective development and utilization of curriculum resources problem has been widespread concerned. The new curriculum fully emphasizes that we should exploit the potential resources. Combining content analysis of compulsory education materials, it can be found that the pictures in English teaching are important resources for the students throughout their entire process of English learning. It can be said that picture is another language for English teachers. Compared to the textbooks and courseware which relative to the text, picture is more loved by pupils in compulsory education. At present, the research on images using for primary school English teaching process has not been a mature system. So accomplishing on the basis of previous research, relying teaching English on assistance of pictures, I make an analysis from two teaching cases and discuss pictures of English teaching for pupils effect.At the first part, the paper analyzes and expounds theoretical basis for teaching with pictures through literature review and theoretical summary of basic theory, and then interpret the basic concept, classification of pictures as teaching resources. Then, on the basis of theoretical research, this paper makes a simple investigation on the current primary school English teaching within the use of the picture source and the participation of students.In the analysis of the investigation, the mainly propose is to find teachers’ concousious and understanding in the picture-useage learning and the existing problems.The paper makes an analysis on the problems found, and also on the the principles for developing and utilizating of English resources. After doing this,I design two related cases in the teaching practice to test the effect of picture-usage teaching in teaching practice. The last part summarizes the major findings in the study, and the reference suggestions on the existing problems.
