Boarding school is necessary for our country to integrate the limited education resources, popularize primary education, and to enlarge the proportion of students entering schools of a higher level in the remote areas and areas inhabited by minority nationalities. Great contributions have been made to the developing of national education, improving of people’s scientific and cultural level of ethnic minority, the fostering of minority talents, and the promoting of national unity etc. since the first boarding school was set up in the Tibetan area of Qinghai province. Due to the development of the Tibetan boarding schools, the mental health problems of Tibetan boarding school students have gained more and more attention. This research studied Qinghai Tibetan national residential boarding middle school students’ mental health level and the status of the relationship between teachers and students as well as the relationship between them, through the using of the mental health diagnostic test(MHT) and the relationship between teachers and students scale, research of the results are as follows:(1) The Tibetan region boarding middle school students’ mental health is in good condition, there were no significant difference in general boarding middle school students’ mental health problems in learning anxiety, physical symptoms and remorse tendency.(2) There are significant differences between the relationship of the students and teachers in Tibetan boarding middle in ethnic minority areas in different dimensions. There are significant differences in dimensions including intimacy, conflict and satisfaction, but no significant differences in supportive dimension.(3)Scores gained by Tibetan ethnic areas boarding middle school students’ mental health level and dimensions of the relationship between teachers and students have no gender differences.(4) Tibetan ethnic areas boarding middle school students’ mental health level and the relationship between teachers and students of each dimension have significant differences(P < 0.01) between different grades. The factors in mental health test for people tended to anxiety, loneliness, remorse, horror tendency and impulsive tendency and MHT scores showed significant difference(P < 0.01). The relationship between teachers and students in dimensions of intimacy, satisfaction and conflict is significantly differences between different grades. Supporting have no grade differences, conflict showed great difference in grade two and senior grade three, students in grade three and senior grade three behaved better than other students in terms of support and satisfaction.(5) The level of the relationship between The Tibetan residential boarding middle school students and the teachers was correlated with the mental health level, that’s to say, the higher the level of relationship, the worse their mental health level, on the contrary, the worse the mental health level, the lower the level of relationship between teachers and students. |
